News from Tristania
Posted by: Pax @ 7:59 CET

Tristania have just published the first photos of the new line up, with their two new singers. They will be posting more as they get developed. The pictures will also be used as the new t-shirt design for their upcoming tour.

But what bugs me, is why they put Vibeke Stene, one of the most beautiful women and voices in metal, at the very back of the picture!!?! You can hardly see her! Now doesn't that just seem foolish?

Also, Tristania's new album "World of Glass" is currently album of the month at Napalm Records and should be released soon.

Waltari.de de has been updated with lots of news. Here are the most important facts:

  • Kärtsy composed the soundtrack for a computer game ("Max Payne")
  • The band is still looking for a new record deal. Therefore a new demo CD has been recorded.
  • (Note: taking a closer look at the demo's cover I noticed Sami Yli-Sirinö is listed as 2nd guitarist...)
  • Jariot has recorded a punkrock CD ("Jariot W. - Solo 2001")
  • Waltari have recorded a punk-style EP
  • A new official website is in the works
Seems like the guys are pretty busy these days. :)

Helloween: looking for new guitarist & drummer
Posted by: Matze @ 6:58 CET

Roland Grapow (g) and Uli Kusch (dr) are no longer with Helloween. They had to leave the band because Michael Weikath, Markus Grosskopf and Andi Deris felt Roland and Uli were paying too much time and attention to their solo projects.

Skyclad : working title of remake album
Posted by: Stéphane @ 19:57 CET

Graeme English confirmed me that the 'remake' album (with old songs reworked in a folkyier way and sung by Kevin Ridley) is confirmed for september. The working title for this item is "no daylights nor heeltaps".
And he confirmed me that there will be a new version of "swords of a 1000 men" with kev as singer (maybe released as single).

Iced Earth: US Tour with Priest & Anthrax - European dates rescheduled
Posted by: Matze @ 8:04 CET

As I'm a bit lazy this morning, I'll just cut'n'pate the whole thing:

Iced Earth's first set of shows promoting their album Horror Show now begin in the United States in September, playing with metal legends Judas Priest and Anthrax. This has the chance to be a big break for the band in America, as they will finally have the opportunity to showcase their powerful brand of metal to many who may not have heard the band before. They will hit many cities they haven't had a chance to play in the past, and on top of that, will be playing at venues that seat thousands rather than the hundreds they're used to. Once the ball gets rolling, anything can happen...

Although this is a great opportunity for the band, there is one unfortunate consequence. Since the US tour starts in mid-September, the European tour dates will have to be rescheduled. As Iced Earth always wishes to maintain the strong bond with their fans, Jon Schaffer has issued a personal statement regarding the matter. Needless to say, the band highly values their fans in Europe, and will do their best to make it up to them.

Since all of this is fairly short-notice, we ask everyone (Americans and Europeans) to spread the word as best they can, so that all of Iced Earth's fans (and potential fans) can stay informed. Thanks!
More info's available over at the Iced Earth website.

    Tristania: news [updated]
Posted by: Stéphane @ 12:50 CET

It's official - the new lead male vocalist and permanent member of Tristania is Kjetil Ingebrigtsen. He has, for the last months, been hard at work rehearsing with the rest of the band and will, together with Østen Bergøy, accompany the band on tour in September. Anders H. Hidle reports that Kjetil has improved immensly in the short time he's been with the band and that they are very pleased with his performances.
The band reports that they have already included two tracks from the new album; 'World of Glass' and 'Tender Trip on Earth'. They will also work to include the tracks 'The Shining Path' and 'Selling Out' before the tour starts. Due to the new album barely hitting the stores before the tour starts, there will be a fine mixture between old and new material on the tour. Read more on the tour in the Community section and more on the album in the Album section.
Thanks to Ed "pax eternum" Graham for the info.

edit Matze: Just noticed there are 3 soundclips from the new album available in th "Music" section of their site.
